Hey, I’m Taylor — the owner and creator behind Rust & InkBased in Frierson, Louisiana.
This whole business started with a craving… specifically, a king cakeAt the time, I was living in Arkansas and couldn’t find one that felt authentic, so I thought, “I can do this myself.”
So I did.
And somewhere between that first attempt and a few more in the kitchen, I realized… I’m actually pretty good at this.
What started as me just wanting a good king cake turned into baking on the side while raising my babies full-time. King cakes led to dipped treats, dipped treats led to custom cakes… and before long, that same “I can do this myself” mindset turned into hand-painted banners and custom pieces too.
Honestly, if I thought I could do it — I tried it.
What began as a small side hustle has now grown into a full-time business built on creativity, determination, and doing things my own way.
Everything you see here is made with intention, heart, and a whole lot of pride. Whether it’s something sweet for your table or a custom piece for your event, it all comes from the same place — wanting it to feel special, personal, and just right.
